Radioactive Waste Management Building — Krško, Slovenia
The radioactive waste management building at NEK Krško — Slovenia's only nuclear power plant — required reliable indoor lighting capable of withstanding continuous gamma radiation exposure. Standard LED luminaires fail rapidly in such environments, creating repeated replacement cycles and unnecessary radiation dose exposure for maintenance personnel entering a restricted-access zone.
Luminos Nuclear supplied LN-LINEAR/GAMMA luminaires for the waste management building. The fully integrated design — with the radiation-hardened LED driver built into the luminaire itself — required no external electronics outside the radiation zone, simplifying installation and eliminating additional cable routing in a restricted environment. The luminaires are rated to 150 kGy, far exceeding the operational requirements of the facility.

Cyclotron environments present combined gamma and neutron fields — the fully integrated driver design eliminates the need for any electronics outside the radiation zone.
Gamma-hardened LED luminaires supplied for a radiation sterilisation application. The installation combined stainless-steel LN-STAINLESS/GAMMA fixtures with LN-LINEAR/GAMMA luminaires, all rated to 150 kGy, with the radiation-hardened driver fully integrated into each luminaire.
