Emergency Backup System

Emergency LED Lighting Solution

The only radiation-resistant emergency lighting solution where the luminaire itself requires no modification. Any Luminos Nuclear luminaire can operate as both standard and emergency lighting. In the event of mains failure, the system automatically switches to battery backup — no rewiring, no separate emergency fittings.

The control cabinet and LiFePO4 battery bank are mounted outside the radiation zone. Up to 150 hours of backup operation with four 60W luminaires. Installed at reference facilities in the UK and Belgium alongside LINEAR/GAMMA luminaires.

Non-Standard Requirements?

Not every radiation environment fits a standard luminaire catalogue. We design and manufacture custom solutions for applications where off-the-shelf products are insufficient — including specialised form factors, specific mounting requirements, higher radiation tolerances, or integrated emergency capability.

We have built luminaires for cyclotron bunkers, nuclear waste management buildings, radiotherapy rooms, and hot cell environments across Europe — often starting from a specific problem rather than a product catalogue.

Our Approach

Engineering from First Principles

Because we design and manufacture everything in-house — LED panels, driver electronics, mechanical housing — we can adapt any part of the product to meet your environment's specific requirements. We've built luminaires for cyclotron bunkers, nuclear waste management buildings, and radiotherapy rooms across Europe, often starting from a conversation about a problem rather than a product catalogue.
